The Minnesota Twins have announced the first cuts of spring training, with the team informing four pitchers, two catchers and two other position players that they'll be reassigned to minor league camp.

The eight cuts are:

  • LHP Jovani Moran
  • RHP Randy Dobnak
  • RHP Ronny Henriquez
  • RHP Ryan Jensen
  • C Alex Isola
  • C Pat Winkel
  • 1B Aaron Sabato
  • OF DaShawn Keirsey

All eight were non-roster invitees and were not expected to make the team out of spring training.

The Twins have to finalize the roster to 26 players, including no more than 13 pitchers, by the time opening day arrives on March 28. They can maintain a 26-man roster through the end of August before September call-ups allow teams to carry 28 players, including no more than 14 pitchers.

The Twins open the season at Kansas City on March 28.
