MLB completed its investigation and handed out severe punishments to the Houston Astros for stealing signs. Both manager A.J. Hinch and Jeff Luhnow are suspended through the 2020 World Series, and the team has been fined $5 million, the most allowed under the MLB’s constitution. The Astros will also lose first and second-round draft picks in both 2020 and 2021. Houston Astros Owner Jim Crane subsequently fired both Hinch and Luhnow after the suspensions were announced. Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who was the Astros bench coach in 2017, will reportedly also be disciplined after MLB finishes its investigation into the Red Sox for their alleged sign stealing back in 2018.
