Angels' Brian Harkins Was Fired For Providing Doctored Baseballs To Visiting Pitchers

MLB is working with the MLB Players Association on implementing new protocols

Angels clubhouse manager Brian Harkins was fired for providing illegal substances to visiting pitchers to the Angels Stadium. The team learned through The Orange County Register’s Jeff Fletcher that Harkins helped pitchers in acquiring the ‘doctored baseballs’ yet there was ‘no indication’ that Harkins was supplying to Angels’ pitchers. In light of the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, MLB is working with the MLB Players Association on implementing new protocols to prevent future cheating incidents.
