The MLB Season May Not Begin Until Summer
Players can no longer workout at team complexes, with Manfred ordering teams cease operations immediately

Now that bans on group gatherings larger than 50 are in place due to coronavirus concerns, MLB will not make its hopeful start date of mid-April. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred also instructed all teams to shut down operations, meaning no more access to facilities or practicing for players. This could mean that when the league eventually does start up, players will likely need a short preseason to get their timing down again.
