The Boston Red Sox announced on Thursday that Pitcher Chris Sale will officially undergo Tommy John surgery. After working on a throwing program this offseason Sale's elbow pain was not relieved, forcing the Red Sox and Sale to go the surgical route. Sale was limited to only 25 starts last season and had pitched with an ERA over 4. The Red Sox are hoping Sale will return healthy for the 2021 season.
