MLB Could Finally Kick Off Its Coronavirus-shortened 2020 Season in July
Many details still need to be finalized, but MLB offers a glimmer of hope with a proposal to start the season

Major League Baseball is determined to have a 2020 season, but how that will look still remains unclear. No plans have been finalized, but MLB is reportedly working up a proposal to the Players' Union for when to start the 2020 season, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic. The season could begin in early July and consist of approximately 80 games. Several key components of the proposal include the length of the season, scheduling, playoff format and potential host cities. All of this, of course, depends on the approval of health experts as well as widely available Coronavirus testing. Their proposal will reportedly be discussed by team owners on Monday and presented to the Players Union on Tuesday.
