Marlins Acquire Outfielder Starling Marte via Trade with Diamondbacks

Starling Marte traded to Marlins

Two time gold glove winner, Starling Marte was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Marlins ahead of the MLB trade deadline. In return Arizona gets two pitchers in Caleb Smith and Humberto Mejia and a player to be named later. Marte has been solid at the plate this year, batting .311 while driving in 14 runs. With about a month left in the shortened 2020 season, the Marlins are sitting in second place in the NL East and trail the Braves by three games.
