One former member of the New York Yankees could end up signing with an American League East rival.

Former Yankees polarizing hurler Domingo Germán is a free agent and is looking for his next opportunity. One club that reportedly is pursuing him is the Toronto Blue Jays, according to the New York Post's Mark Sanchez.

"A healthier Domingo Germán expects to be back in Major League Baseball next season," Sanchez said. "The former Yankee is in talks with six teams, a source familiar with Germán’s situation said, including (American League) East foes the Blue Jays and (Baltimore Orioles).

"The (New York Mets), too, has talked with Germán’s camp, though the source said the Yankees’ crosstown rivals are 'the least favorites.' Though several teams are engaged, there is no deal imminent after a season with one remarkable high and one remarkable low."

Germán has shown flashes on the field but has had multiple off-the-field issues throughout his big career so far, including a suspension after domestic violence investigation.

The 31-year-old had a 4.56 ERA last season with the Yankees in 20 total appearances but left the club early after seeing alcohol abuse treatment.

He seems to be looking for another opportunity at the big league level and the Blue Jays have been mentioned as a club looking for starting pitching. When he has been on the mound, Germán has been a solid back-of-the-rotation starter. Maybe we will end up seeing him sign soon.
