The New York Yankees have made some massive moves this offseason but still could use some more depth.

New York's biggest question mark at this point is the starting rotation. The Yankees have added Marcus Stroman, but it's still unclear exactly what it will look like. Plus, New York currently is hoping for multiple bounce-back campaigns from some of its hurlers.

The Yankees have been linked to multiple top-tier hurlers still available -- like Jordan Montgomery and Blake Snell -- but the club likely won't hand out another big deal this offseason.

While this is the case, New York still could add some more depth to a cheaper deal. One player who is looking for another opportunity is six-time All-Star Zack Greinke, according to USA Today Sports' Bob Nightengale.

"Zack Greinke, 40, still wants to pitch another season after going 2-15 with a 5.06 ERA last season," Nightengale said. "If he returns, he has a chance to become only the 20th pitcher in history to record 3,000 strikeouts. He has 2,979 career strikeouts."

Greinke has pitched for the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Houston Astros throughout his career and has been one of the top pitchers in baseball over the last 20 years.

He isn't what he once was and struggled in 2023, but had a 3.68 ERA in 26 appearances with the Royals in 2022. One of New York's biggest issues in 2023 was a lack of depth when injuries piled up. Greinke could be the type of veteran to bring in to help out the back of the rotation while providing much-needed depth.

If he can compile some numbers like he did in 2022, that would be a bonus. He has pitched in some massive markets throughout his career and has had plenty of success. He arguably was at his best while pitching for the Dodgers earlier in his career.

Why not take a chance on him on a cheap deal?
