The New York Yankees' roster could look a lot different next season.

As The New York Post's Jon Heyman predicted on MLB Network, the Yankees could wind up with two out of three superstars in Juan Soto, Cody Bellinger and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The Yankees are coming off a disappointing 82-80 season, missing out on the postseason for the first time since 2016, which means they're destined to make moves this winter.

New York has already spoken to the San Diego Padres about potentially trading for Soto, and are in on Bellinger and Yamamoto in free agency.

If the Yankees were to acquire Soto and Bellinger, it would provide their lineup with much-needed left-handed bats that would be a perfect fit for the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium. It would also create a lethal middle of the order by pairing this duo with MVP superstar Aaron Judge. Soto, Bellinger and Judge would give the Yankees the best outfield in baseball.

But the club also needs help in the rotation behind American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole. The Yankees signed Carlos Rodon to a six-year, $162 million deal last winter, but he flopped in year-one in the Bronx. Should the Yankees sign Yamamoto it would give them a three-headed monster atop the rotation, assuming Rodon bounces back to his career norms in his second season in pinstripes.

The Yankees are in need of more star power and if they wind up with two out of three superstars mentioned, they will be in good shape heading into 2024.
