He may have just locked it up.

New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, the favorite to win the American League Cy Young Award, finished up his season by tossing a complete game shutout against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Cole allowed two hits against the Blue Jays in what was his second complete game shutout of the season.

Cole lowered his ERA to 2.63 and finished with 209 innings, which both lead the AL.

The right-hander has not won a Cy Young or a World Series in his career, but one of these is about to change.

Cole also finished with a 15-4 record and 222 strikeouts in 33 starts.

Cole has been one of the most consistent starters in baseball and is known for being a work horse.

He may have already had the Cy Young Award in the bag, but on Wednesday night he only continued to make his case.
