Yankees Activate Harrison Bader From IL
He's baaack.
On Tuesday, the Yankees activated center fielder Harrison Bader from the IL. Bader is back in the Yankees' lineup batting fifth and playing center field.
Bader had been on the shelf since March with an oblique strain. But after completing a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he is now back in the Bronx with the big-league club.
The Yankees acquired Bader from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for left-handed starter Jordan Montgomery at last season's trade deadline.
While Bader spent the majority of his time on the IL down the stretch of last season due to plantar fasciitis, he returned to the Yankees on September 20, in which he picked up his first hit.
Bader was healthy for the postseason and found his power stroke. He became the fourth Yankee in franchise history to hit five home runs in a single postseason.
Now in his first full season with New York, Bader will look to build off his impressive playoff performance and aid a Yankee team that has struggled out of the gate, mostly due to injuries.
