Hopefully the first of many.

Rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe hit his first career home run on Friday night.

Batting in the leadoff spot, Volpe's homer traveled 394 feet with an exit velocity of 99.8 mph. The ball sailed into the seats in left field.

Volpe's first long ball came against Minnesota Twins right-hander Louie Varland

Superstar Aaron Judge followed up Volpe's homer with a blast of his own, going back-to-back with the rookie.

The Yankees are hoping that Volpe's homer can get his bat on track, as he is batting an anemic .179 with a .606 OPS to begin his major league career.

Volpe won the Yankees' starting shortstop job in Spring Training, beating out fellow top prospect Oswald Peraza.

Volpe, 21, is the youngest player to start at shortstop for the Yankees since Derek Jeter, who was also 21, in 1996.
