The New York Yankees look to have figured it out after one of the worst seasons in the team's history last year.

2023 was frankly unacceptable, and it was clear changes needed to be made.

After landing Juan Soto, Marcus Stroman, and others, the front office did fantastic job of building a World Series-caliber roster.

While this is a team that can win a championship, there are still plenty of ways for the Yankees to improve. Contending teams, specifically, are always looking for starting pieces on the mound and in the bullpen.

Of the potential options that might become available, Devin Williams is a name that could come up in the coming months.

Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report predicted the landing spots for Williams, listing New York as a team that could use the closer.

The two-time All-Star and two-time Hoffman Reliever of the Year winner has been lights out for most of his career, posting a 1.89 ERA in 219 appearances. Williams has some of the best stuff in baseball, throwing a changeup that’s notably viewed as one of the best pitches in the sport.

He’s dealing with a back injury at the moment, but that could drive his price down, something the Yankees would be thrilled with.

In the 2023 season, Williams posted a 1.53 ERA in 61 appearances, striking out 87 batters in 58 2/3 innings pitched.

New York’s bullpen isn’t bad by any means, but it could use another elite arm. Williams would give them just that as they look to win a World Series.
