Yankees Injury Update: Carlos Rodon

Yankees injury update: Carlos Rodon.
In this story:

He's starting to make progress.

Carlos Rodon (left forearm strain) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Monday and felt good afterward, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Rodon's bullpen included breaking balls, which is a step in the right direction after throwing only fastballs in his previous session.

On March 23, Rodon threw 15 pitches in his first bullpen since being shut down with a forearm strain.

He is expected to throw off the mound one or two more times before facing hitters.

The belief is that Rodon will be out until at least the end of April. But it's a good sign that he has felt good after his first two bullpen sessions.

The Yankees signed Rodon to a six-year, $162 million deal to be the No. 2 starter in their rotation behind ace Gerrit Cole.

The hope is that Rodon can return in a few weeks and stay healthy for the remainder of the season.
