New York Yankees No. 1 prospect Jasson Domínguez has a .239 batting average this season at Double-A Somerset.

You would be hard-pressed to tell by his last 10 games, though.

The 20-year-old center-fielder, who is nicknamed “The Martian,” is batting .395 in his last 10 contests.

He’s 17-for-43 since July 27 when the Patriots were playing the Bowie Baysox. He collected at least one hit in nine of those 10 games, with the only exception an 0-for-3 game against Bowie on July 30.

He only had one home run in that stretch, but it came Sunday against the Akron RubberDucks. But it was a big one.

With that stretch, Dominguez boosted his season slash numbers with Somerset to .238/.361/.386/.747 with 13 home runs and 56 RBI.

The stretch was carryover from his terrific July, during which he batted .309 with two home runs and 15 RBI.

His slash numbers are behind his numbers from 2022, when he played for three different Yankees affiliates — Tampa in the Florida State League, Class-A Hudson Valley and Somerset — and batted .273/.375/.461/.836 with 16 home runs and 59 RBI.

Despite the drop in batting average, he is still in line to surpass his single-season career highs in home runs and RBI he set last year.

The expectations are high for Dominguez, whom MLB.com expects to be called up to Yankee Stadium in 2024. The switch-hitter signed a $5.1 million offer from the Yankees coming out of the Dominican Republic before starting his minor-league career in 2021 when he joined the Yankees’ Florida Complex League rookie team, followed by a promotion to Tampa.
