New York Yankees Lose Another Reliever to IL

The New York Yankees have lost another reliever to the injured list.

The New York Yankees' bullpen has lost another key piece from their unit.

On Wednesday, the Yankees placed reliever Keynan Middleton on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

Middleton has been a solid piece in the Yankee bullpen since the team acquired him from the Chicago White Sox at the trade deadline last month.

In 11 appearances, the righty has given up just one run across 13.1 innings while striking out 17 batters.

Middleton is the latest Yankee reliever to land on the IL, as Ian Hamilton went on the shelf over the weekend with a groin strain.

The Yankees called up left-handed pitcher Matt Krook to replace Middleton on the roster.

In two games with the Yankees this year, Krook has surrendered seven runs across three innings.

However, Krook has been much better with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, pitching to a 0.92 ERA in 29.1 innings. But his command has been an issue this season.

The Yankees got back to .500 at 69-69 on Tuesday night with their fourth straight win. They've won seven out of their last 10 games and are 7.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
