New York Yankees Lose Star Slugger to IL

Things have gone from bad to worse.
Just days after failing to add another bat at the trade deadline, the New York Yankees have now lost first baseman Anthony Rizzo to the injured list with a likely concussion.
According to manager Aaron Boone, Rizzo first reported symptoms during their series with the Baltimore Orioles last weekend.
But per Boone, Rizzo's issue could date further back to a collision he had with Fernando Tatis Jr. at first base back in May when the San Diego Padres visited Yankee Stadium.

Since this collision, Rizzo has been in a prolonged slump for a Yankees team that is in desperate need of offense.
Rizzo underwent tests that showed cognitive impairment, as Boone said.
For now, Rizzo is considered week-to-week, which is a big blow for the Yankees' lineup.
