He's moving on up.

The New York Yankees have promoted No. 1 ranked prospect Spencer Jones to Double-A Somerset.

The 22-year-old outfielder logged 100 games for the High-A Hudson Valley Renegades this season, slashing .268/.337/.450 with a .787 OPS, 13 home runs and 56 RBIs. He also had 34 stolen bases in 43 attempts.

The 6"6 prospect has struck out at a 29.1 percent clip in the minor leagues this year, but since the All-Star break he has cut this mark down to 24.1 percent.

Jones' promotion comes in the same week as No. 2 prospect Jasson Dominguez getting bumped up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Jones is ranked No. 78 on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list and Dominguez is right behind him at No. 79.

The Yankees could lose center fielder Harrison Bader in free agency this offseason, but their future outfield seems to be in good hands with Jones and Dominguez speeding through the system.
