New York Yankees Still Active on the Trade Front

The New York Yankees trade that landed Juan Soto could go down as one of the biggest in franchise history. If Soto re-signs and wins a World Series with the Yankees, he could go down as one of the greatest to ever wear the pinstripes.
While the trade certainly adds pressure to New York, that is what they're built on. A star-studded roster is here and anything less than a World Series will be looked at as a disappointment.
The Yankees' front office seems to understand that as they went out and added starting pitcher Marcus Stroman. It's as much of a do-or-die season as has been seen in a very long time for this team.
Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports that Brian Cashman said New York is still on the lookout for players who can help them.
"We're still talking to clubs about trades and we're still talking to agents about players ... We're having a lot of conversations on the trade front as well as the free agent market."
Of the potential trade targets that the front office could be showing interest in, Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox seems to be the biggest name on the trade block. He is a young and controllable arm that can come in and make an immediate impact for the Yankees.
Unless Carlos Rodon returns to his pre-2023 ways, Cease would almost certainly be the No. 2. Even if Rodon was at his best, Cease has a case for being the better arm.
Other free agents and trade targets are still on the market that the team could use. This is a massive year for the organization after one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory.
