It’s official: Aaron Judge is part of the Jordan family.

On Friday, the New York Yankees captain was announced as the latest athlete to sign with the prestigious Air Jordan brand.

Judge is certainly familiar with endorsement deals; he represented Adidas from 2018 to 2021, signing the deal shortly after his 2017 Rookie of the Year campaign.

Yet in his 2022 MVP season, he didn’t have any official endorsement deals in place and wore numerous different batting gloves (from Adidas to Nike to the Jordan brand), along with customized New Balance cleats with the branding removed.

Throughout the 2023 season, Judge has exclusively worn Jordan brand batting gloves, which may have hinted that he had a deal in place before it was officially announced on Friday.

Judge isn’t the first Yankee to represent the famous "Jump Man" logo, or the first Yankee Captain, for that matter; legendary Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter was the very first baseball player to endorse the Jordan brand. Jeter signed with the company in 1999, four years before he was named Yankee Captain, and his partnership with the Jordan brand continues to this day.

As of today, Judge is one of five current players to wear the "Jump Man" logo on the field. The others are Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the Miami Marlins, Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Manny Machado of the San Diego Padres.

Despite playing in just 67 games so far, Judge leads the Yankees with 22 home runs, and boasts an impressive .281/.415/.615 slash line with a 1.030 OPS in an injury-shortened campaign.

Judge and the Yankees will begin a three-game series this weekend in the Bronx against their hated rivals, the Boston Red Sox. First pitch is on Friday at 7:05 pm ET.
