The New York Yankees are in full MLB offseason mode as the World Series has finally come to a close and the winter can truly get underway.

The Yankees wasted little time in in beginning to reconstruct their roster as they have outrighted six of their players through waivers. Each player is now able to either be claimed or signed in free agency.

According to the New York Post, New York sent Domingo Germán, Matt Bowman, Franchy Cordero, Jimmy Cordero, Billy McKinney and Ryan Weber through outright waivers.

German was a bit of a surprise as he threw a perfect game in 2023, but he is on the restricted list after having entered rehab for alcohol issues earlier in the season.

Franchy Cordero appeared in just 24 games for the Bronx Bombers this season and slashed .188/.211/.478.

Jimmy Cordero appeared in 31 games and threw 32.2 innings to the tune of a 3.86 ERA and 1.071 WHIP. He was suspended this past July for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. There was very little doubt he would ever see the mound for New York again.

The Yankees are slated to be massive players in free agency this winter and potentially in the trade market as well. New York will be looking to chase down the AL East crown once again, but they will need a roster reconstruction and that process has now begun.
