Star Slugger Aaron Judge Responds To Yankees' Fans Chants To Fire Brian Cashman
The New York Yankees haven't had the season many hoped they would have.
New York had very high expectations heading into the 2023 season but things haven't panned out. The Yankees have struggled and now will have to make some tough decisions this upcoming offseason to get back to the postseason in 2024.
It's unclear exactly what will be done but there likely will be changes throughout the organization. Some have wondered if general manager Brian Cashman could be let go, but that move is extremely unlikely. Although that's the case, Yankees fans chanted about a possible move Friday night. Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge responded to the chants after the game, according to the New York Daily News Sports' Gary Phillips.
"The fans aren't happy, and I think they're the ones that are showing out every single night and paying a lot of good money to watch us go out here and win games," Judge said. "And this year, we haven't. So I think, as an organization top to bottom, we all take responsibility. But as a player, I feel like we take the most. We're the ones out there doing it. We're the ones out there playing every single night, so I hear their frustration, that's for sure. We'll get it right."
It is extremely unlikely that Cashman will be let go this upcoming offseason. New York is more likely to roll back the club with a few additions -- maybe someone like outfielder Cody Bellinger or pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto -- and hope for better health in 2024.
