He's getting close.

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees superstar Aaron Judge is on track to return from the injured list when he is eligible on Tuesday.

Judge has been performing hitting and running drills and has looked good, as he makes his way back from a mild hip strain.

The 31-year-old landed on the IL retroactive to April 28 after tweaking his hip on a swing against the Texas Rangers.

The hip first locked up on Judge when he awkwardly slid into third base on a stolen base attempt the day before against the Minnesota Twins.

The 17-16 Yankees are 10 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East. They could realize use their star player back and it sounds like he will return this upcoming week.

Judge is coming off an MVP season, in which he broke the AL home run record with 62 long balls.

In the offseason, Judge re-signed with the Yankees on a nine-year, $360 million deal. Shortly thereafter he was named the 16th captain in franchise history.
