There are major expectations for the New York Yankees entering this upcoming season after putting together one of the worst they've had in recent memory during 2023.

The front office, coaching staff and players have all discussed the disappointing performance the franchise had and are looking to turn the page.

Upgrades were required to make that happen, and they were able to accomplish this goal for the most part.

Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, Marcus Stroman and others should give them a much better chance of competing in a loaded American League.

However, there are still some concerns with this roster, more specifically in the bullpen, after injuries have already started to pop up.

With Scott Effross likely missing half the season, Tommy Kahnle recovering from a shoulder injury and Lou Trevino placed on the 60-day injured list, the Yankees needed to make a move to get more pitching into their organization.

New York was able to do that by claiming McKinley Moore off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies according to their own social media account.

The right-hander was added to the 40-man roster as Trevino was moved to the IL.

Moore is a 25-year-old who was originally taken in the 14th round by the Chicago White Sox. He's spent the majority of his time at the minor league level before making his MLB debut with the Phillies last year.

He struggled mightily, allowing seven earned runs on five hits across 3 1/3 innings pitched, but he's flashed signs of promise in the minors with a career ERA of 3.92 across 118 appearances and one start throughout four professional seasons.

Moore likely won't factor in with the Yankees much this year, but he is certainly a depth piece that can be used if the injuries start piling up once again.
