The New York Yankees could make a major move or two this offseason.

New York needs to improve the starting rotation and the outfield. This isn't anything new. New York won just 82 games last season and ever since there has been plenty of speculation about the club. The Yankees have money to spend and the prospect capital needed to get a deal done. The Athletic's Jim Bowden compiled a list of possible trade targets for the Yankees this offseason and one player that stood out on his list is Milwaukee Brewers star pitcher Corbin Burnes.

"Trade targets: Juan Soto, Jack Suwinski, Michael Harris II, Leody Taveras, Lars Nootbaar, Cedric Mullins, Dylan Carlson, Anthony Santander, Ian Happ, Luis Robert Jr., Max Kepler, Nolan Jones, Manuel Margot, Corbin Burnes, Tyler Glasnow, and Shane Bieber," Bowden said. "The Yankees have been active in the starting pitching and outfield markets, aggressively exploring free-agent options and trades, although they don't seem close to any deals at this point.

"They are committed to improving in center field and left field and also will look to add at least one elite starting pitcher. As usual, they'll be a fun team to watch at the Winter Meetings."

Burnes has been floated as a trade candidate many times over the last year and he could be a perfect addition to the Yankees' starting rotation. A deal may not cost too much as well because he will be a free agent at the end of the 2024 season. A move may not be likely but would be a great way to make a splash this offseason.
