Rizzo: I'll be on Affliction 2
Following a disappointing loss to Josh Barnett at the inaugural Affliction event, former Ultimate Fighting Championship and Pride heavyweight Pedro "The Rock" Rizzo is expected to be a part of the second Affliction show set to take place in Las Vegas on Oct. 11.
Rizzo made the announcement on Tatame.com during an interview with the website.
Rizzo sat out for more than 10 months between his victory over Jeff Monson and his most recent fight with Barnett. The Brazilian said in the article that he felt the effects of the ring rust in his fight in Affliction, but also stated there are no excuses for the loss.
The former top heavyweight contender also mentioned that names such as Paul Buentello are being tossed around as possible opponents, but nothing has been finalized as of yet.
The second Affliction show, while still not officially announced, is expected to take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, but no fights or fighters outside of Rizzo's comments have been confirmed for the show.
