Anderson Silva failed two drug tests in January, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett confirmed to ESPN.com Tuesday

Silva had already failed an out-of-competition test administered on Jan. 9, but passed a test on Jan. 19. It was revealed Tuesday that he failed the post-fight urine test administered after his UFC 183 victory over Nick Diaz on Jan. 31.

The Jan. 9 test was positive for drostanolone and androstane, a pair of steroids. The Jan. 31 test was positive for Oxazepam, an anti-anxiety drug, and Temazepam, which is used to treat insomnia.

Anderson Silva booted from SI.com MMA Rankings

After reports surfaced that he had failed the Jan. 9 test, Silva denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

Silva, 39, defeated Diaz by unanimous decision. It was his first fight since he broke his tibia and fibula in a Dec. 2013 fight.
