The Heat announced in a statement Thursday that the team is investigating an incident involving former UFC champion Conor McGregor after Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Miami.

“We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation,” the team’s statement read. “Pending the outcome of the investigation, we will withhold further comment.”

The announcement comes following a report from TMZ that a woman described sexual assault by McGregor on Friday at the Kaseya Center. Details of the incident were obtained by TMZ via demand letters from the survivor’s attorney, Ariel Mitchell. McGregor sat courtside at that night’s game and participated in a halftime publicity stunt that left the Heat’s mascot injured.

The Miami Police Department also is investigating the matter, per Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640.

McGregor has denied the allegations, according to TMZ. The UFC also issued a statement in the wake of the report.

“The organization is aware of the recent allegations regarding Conor McGregor and will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident,” the statement read, per Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports. “UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements.”
