UFC Announces Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic Heavyweight Title Fight at MSG
Jon Jones will defend his UFC heavyweight title at UFC 295 on Nov. 11, facing former champion Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Jones made his return to the octagon after a three-year absence on March 4, winning the heavyweight title for the first time by submitting Ciryl Gane. The victory moved his all-time record up to 27–1, with the one loss being a disqualification against Matt Hamill back in 2009. He previously held the light heavyweight title, successfully defending it in a record 11 fights.
Miocic (20–4) will make his own return after a lengthy layoff. He last fought in March 2021, when he lost the heavyweight title to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260. Miocic first one the title at UFC 198 with a knockout win over Fabrício Werdum, defending it three times before a loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226. He’d win the title back from Cormier the just over a year later at UFC 241, and defended it in a third Cormier fight at UFC 252 before falling to Ngannou in his next fight.
His four title defenses are the most in UFC history for the heavyweight division.
