UFC News: Ian Garry Confirms Massive Colby Covington Fight Is in the Works
It’s your move, Colby Covington.
Ian Garry’s call-out of the three-time UFC title challenger may have finally paid off. Ireland’s Garry made it crystal clear he wanted Covington following his latest win over Geoff Neal at UFC 298, mirroring Covington’s social media antics in an effort to secure the fight.

The American fired back at Garry, giving him multiple stipulations before he agreed to fight. Two stipulations were made personal, including the Irishman’s wife, Layla, which is a big no-no for Garry.
After denying Covington’s ridiculous requests with more back-and-forth banter, ‘The Future’ says the fight with Covington could be happening sooner rather than later.
“What's up everyone? It's Tuesday, the 9th of April at 10 past one, and I just wanna let everyone know I have agreed to fight with Colby Covington. There is a date in place,” Garry confirmed in a video posted to Instagram.
Of course, there’s just one roadblock that stands in the way of the potential fight going down and it starts and ends with ‘Chaos’.
“Colby still hasn't signed the contract,” Garry concluded.
Ian Garry didn’t reveal the date for the offered fight but the #7-ranked contender has entertained UFC 303 on June 29th as an option.
“I‘d like to fight maybe International Fight Week,” Garry told MMA Fighting last week. “Look, if Colby wants to fight his back garden tomorrow, I will fly to Miami and fight about his back garden. I don’t care when it is. I just want him as the opponent.
“I want him to be a man and step into the octagon and face his fears. Face the man who he’s talked a lot of s*** about and watch what happens when you get in there. I’ve got him, he’s gonna look after me. God will be good. He will give me Colby Covington whenever, wherever I want him and he will say, Ian, have fun.”
Colby Covington has not fought since UFC 296, where he came up short on the scorecards against Leon Edwards, marking his third unsuccessful title challenge at welterweight.
