Misty May-Treanor
I hate to see Misty May-Treanor leave Dancing With The Stars after rupturing her left Achilles tendon while rehearsing last week, although I must admit I wouldn't mind seeing her possible replacement. Rumors are swirling that Kim Kardashian, who was previously eliminated, may return to the show to replace Misty. She may not win or last more than a week but she would be the best "back"-up plan since Brady replaced Bledsoe.
Helio Castroneves
Speaking of Dancing With The Stars, Season 4 champion Helio Castroneves was in U.S. District Court in Miami wearing handcuffs and leg irons to answer a seven-count indictment for tax evasion and conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government. Someone should tell Castroneves that he's taking this celebrity thing a little too far. He doesn't necessarily have to go to jail to make tabloid headlines, just hook up with Julianne Hough again.
O.J. Simpson
Is there a greater example that karma exists than the current plight of O.J. Simpson? The former USC star will be spending the next few months at a Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas before he goes off to prison, quite possibly for the rest of his life. We're guessing that reclaiming his sports memorabilia probably wasn't worth it, in retrospect.
Howard Stern
"The King of All Media" now has a queen (for the second time) as Howard Stern finally married Beth Ostrosky. If I had bet Artie Lange on the over/under of Stern ever getting re-married after the first divorce, I would have definitely taken the over, but hopefully it works out this time around.
Alicia Sacramone
Let's hope TMZ and its cameras follow Alicia Sacramone around Hollywood more often. Not only is she cute, but also a great quote. Here's what she said about the best part of having an Olympic medal. "It's like getting a get out of jail free card," she said. "You get pulled over and you're like, `Mr. Officer, can you hold my medal while I get out my license?'"
Tony Parker
Parker recently completed a documentary about his career, entitled "9," which will be released on Oct. 14. "There was a lot of demand in France about my career because soccer is the main sport," Parker told me recently. "So I decided to do a documentary about the first half of my career with all the NBA footage and home footage to promote basketball in France. I've been working on it for over a year." And yes, Eva Longoria is in the film.
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette will give a special live performance via satellite from Montreal as part of NHL Face-Off Rocks, the NHL's opening day viewing party and concert from the Fox Theatre in Detroit on Thursday. Unfortunately for Red Wings fans, they'll have to settle for a live performance from Def Leppard, who will be playing, "C'mon, C'mon" from the theatre, followed by the raising of the Red Wings' 2008 Stanley Cup Championship banner. There's no truth to the rumor that the song will be played in reference to fans telling Chris Chelios to "C'mon, C'mon" retire already.
Kimbo Slice
Can we all finally move on from calling this back alley brawler the "face of MMA?" In reality he was the face of what's wrong with MMA and, thankfully, was exposed by a no-name fighter 14 seconds into the first round of a nationally televised fight. Hopefully you enjoyed your 15 seconds of fame, Kimbo, because it has finally ended.
Lindsay Lohan
If Kimbo wants to get another nationally televised match, here's an idea, Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, is looking to take someone on in the ring for $5,000. Apparently, Kevin Federline declined, which opens the door for Kimbo. If Michael Lohan fought Kimbo Slice with Lindsay Lohan as a guest referee, then I might care about another Kimbo Slice fight.
Entourage
As much as it pains me to say this, given that I've watched every episode of Entourage from the first day that it aired over four years ago, but the show has officially "jumped the shark." This season was already waning, but last week's episode was easily the worst ever and maybe the worst thing I've seen on HBO in a while.
