Michael Phelps is Back
Michael Phelps finished second Friday morning in the last preliminary heat of the 200-meter freestyle, his first competition since Beijing, and coming on the heels of his completion of a three-month suspension. Here are some shots from the Charlotte Ultraswim, where Phelps touched in 1 minute, 50.46 seconds, just behind Davis Tarwater's winning time of 1:50.21. Phelps had another preliminary swim in the morning in the 100 butterfly and two finals in the evening.
Michael Phelps is not unbeatable. Not when he's going against Aaron Peirsol. The world-record holder and two-time Olympic champion handed Phelps his first defeat in nearly a year, winning the 200-meter backstroke on Saturday night.
