Wrestler Daniel Bryan told SI Now host Maggie Gray that the WWE is “hesitant” to clear him to return from the concussion he sustained in April.

Bryan won the title at Wrestlemania 31 but just one month later announced to the crowd that an unspecified injury would force him to give up the belt so that fans could see a fighting champion. The wrestler told SI Now that he's been asked a lot of questions about what his injury was and revealed that it's a concussion issue.

“I had a concussion in April and I've been cleared by the neurologist in Phoenix to come back to wrestle ... but given my history, WWE is hesitant to clear me. So I have to go through all these hurdles and that sort of thing,” said Bryan.

“I feel great, I feel amazing. But as everybody knows in the sports world, this is a hot button topic right now. So the doctors are being very slow and cautious and all that kind of stuff with me.”
