Watch: Michael Phelps wins first race of 2016 in 100-meter butterfly
Michael Phelps has his first win of 2016.
Swimming at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin, Texas, Phelps took home the win in the 100-meter butterfly Saturday, finishing the race in 51.94 seconds. Phelps won gold in the same event at the 2012 London Olympics.
Phelps also raced in the 100-meter freestyle event Friday, finishing sixth.
“I thought I finished well in the 100 fly,” Phelps said. “My freestyle stroke isn't fully there, which is frustrating. Being a body-length behind at the 50, it's not really a place where you want to be. I didn't die. I finished well. I thought the last 10 meters of the 100 free were great.”
