The Florida sophomore set an American, NCAA, and SEC record with his 18.39-second swim.
Caeleb Dressel lowered his own 50 yard freestyle swimming record from 18.39 seconds to 18.23 seconds at the 2016 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in Columbia, Mo.
The time is now an American, NCAA, and SEC record for the Florida sophomore.

The previous American record of 18.66 was set by Nathan Adrian in 2011. The U.S. open and NCAA record was 18.47 set by Brazilian star Cesar Cielo at the 2008 NCAA championships.
Ryan Lochte, a former Florida Gator and 11-time Olympic medalist congratulated Dressel on Twitter.
Dressel ranked fourth in the world in the 50 freestyle last year.
