Chicago Radio Host Dan McNeil Fired For Misogynistic Comments on Maria Taylor's Attire
Chicago Radio Host Dan McNeil was fired after misogynistic comments were made about ESPN’s Maria Taylors attire.
McNeil tweeted a picture of Taylor on the sidelines at MetLife Stadium writing, “NFL sideline reporter or a host for the [Adult Video News] annual awards presentation?” The tweet was later deleted after he received criticism but the radio host was fired on Tuesday.
Entercom Chicago said in a statement that, "Dan McNeil is no longer an employee at The Score, Last night's tweet, and it's degrading and humiliating tone to a fellow female broadcaster, was unacceptable."
Taylor had her own statement to make in regards to McNeils firing. The ESPN correspondent shared on twitter, “ Well Danny Dearest if you would like to continue making sexist comments about me...please bring your misogyny with you to the NBA Countdown double header I’ll be hosting tomorrow night,"
She also included, "Hey ladies remember you can wear whatever you feel confident in.”
Taylor has been at ESPN since 2014 and is currently the host of NBA Countdown.
