Miami Marine Stadium Faces New Restoration Effort

After decades of neglect and disrepair, an effort is underway to restore the historic landmark on Miami's waterfront.

Originally designed in the 1960s as a boat racing facility, Miami Marine Stadium became a cultural hub of the city before falling into decades of disrepair. After Hurricane Andrew swept through South Florida in 1992, the stadium was all but forgotten. But street artists turned the run-down stadium into a public canvas, and after being designated a historic landmark, an effort is now underway to bring the stadium back to life.
