Best of the NBA Summer League
Greg Oden
The No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft racked up 19 fouls in two games at the Las Vegas Summer League. That's the extent of his work there, as a tonsillectomy kept him from playing in Portland's other games.
Kevin Durant
Like Oden, Durant struggled in his first exposure to NBA-caliber competition, shooting 9-for-36 from the field in Seattle's first two games. In the second game, an 87-74 loss to the Knicks, the No. 2 pick finished with one rebound and no assists in 34 minutes.
J.J. Redick
The second-year guard scored 30 points in 36 minutes as the Magic beat the Nets 85-74 in the opener of the Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando.
Yi Jianlian
On the court in Las Vegas, Yi is playing for the Chinese national team instead of Milwaukee, which selected him No. 6 in last month's draft. Off the court, Yi has had his first contact with Bucks officials, who are hoping to persuade him to sign with the team.
Sun Yue
The Lakers' second-round pick has joined Yi in playing for the Chinese national team against NBA clubs. Sun, 22, a 6-foot-9 point guard, is hoping to play in the NBA next season.
LaMarcus Aldridge
Aldridge, who showed promise during his injury-plagued rookie season, has been one of the more impressive players in Las Vegas. Oden called his frontcourt mate a "beast."
Rajon Rondo
Rondo, a rookie last year, is using his time in Vegas to show the Celtics that he can handle the starting point guard job next season.
Renaldo Balkman
The energetic, second-year forward, who shut down Kevin Durant during a Las Vegas game, had such a strong rookie season that the Knicks are said to be reluctant to even consider him in trade discussions.
Daequan Cook
Another rookie off to a sluggish start, the former Ohio State guard made 5-of-22 shots in his first two games in Orlando.
Johan Petro
Petro, the 25th pick in the 2005 draft, is one of several young big men who will compete for playing time with the rebuilding Sonics.
