NBA Ex-Wives And Girlfriends
NBA Ex-Wives And Girlfriends
Vanessa Bryant, ex-wife of Kobe Bryant
She stood by her man when he was accused of sexual assault in 2003, but after 10 years, she wasn't going to stand for any more his cheating! Or, at least, that's what the rumors claim. She filed for divorce in December, citing "irreconciable differences," and since California is a 50/50 state and they didn't sign a pre-nup, she's bound to get big-time money. Here are some other famous exes of NBA players and their ALLEGED reasons behind their breakups.
Kim Kardashian, ex-wife of Kris Humphries
Nets forward Kris Humphries thought he met his match in the reality TV star, and proposed after a lengthy courtship of six whole months. Clearly he thought wrong, as their fairytale marriage lasted a whopping 72 days. Thank goodness they made millions with their four-hour wedding special!
Gloria Govan, ex-fiancee of Matt Barnes
The Lakers forward was engaged to Govan, but after a dropped domestic violence charge and a postponed wedding, they called it quits. Govan remains one of the non-basketball wives on VH1's reality show, "Basketball Wives L.A.," with her sister, Laura (see slide 7).
Allison Mathis, ex of Chris Bosh
Gee, here's a new one: Mathis and Bosh sued each other. She had planned to be on "Basketball Wives" until Bosh claimed she was infringing on his name by appearing on the show. Mathis, the mother of his kids, was dropped from the cast -- or so she claims -- and counter-sued. Mathis won. Charming.
Cristal Taylor, ex-fiancee of Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk's first fiancee turned out to be a fugitive on the run and was jailed on a theft charge. Soon after she was arrested, she claimed she was pregnant with his kid. He has since moved on. She is still in the clinker.
Royce Reed, ex of Dwight Howard
Remember when Howard sued the mother of his child, Royce Reed (the former Orlando Magic dancer famously known for her cat fights on "Basketball Wives" ... even though she was never a basketball wife), for defamation and won? Never a good thing for a relationship.
Laura Govan, ex/not ex-fiancee of Gibert Arenas
Remember that story about an NBA player getting served child support and custody papers during halftime of one his games? Yeah, this is the one. Arenas later sued to try to block Govan from appearing on "Basketball Wives L.A." (that show causes so much drama) because it's "likely to mislead or confuse consumers" that Govan, was actually married to Arenas. That lawsuit is still in play, but they're reportedly back together. Like a storybook ending.
Joumana Kidd, ex-wife of Jason Kidd
This was a good turned bad turned decent turned really, really bad relationship. Four years after getting married, Jason was arrested on a domestic violence charge. They later made up and become lovey-dovey, but seven years later he filed for divorce, claiming "extreme cruelty." It's OK though, their swimsuit photo is still pretty hot.
Alejandra Amarilla, ex-wife of Steve Nash
Yes, they were adorable. But a day after she gave birth to their third child, he announced they were headed for splitsville. Among the rumors: She cheated on him with his teammate, she had a love child with that teammate, Nash cheated on her with a 22-year-old ... yeah, that's enough. No one knows the truth, really.
Siovaughn Wade, ex-wife of Dwyane Wade
Dwyane and Siohvaughn Wade. The relationship from hell. What other way can you describe a public split that included baseless claims of STD transmission and one suing the other's new better half (Gabrielle Union) for emotional distress. Hot mess.
Eva Longoria, ex-wife of Tony Parker
Three years after getting married in a European castle, actress Eva Longoria filed for divorce from the Spurs point guard. According to reports, Parker cheated, making bachelors around the world incredibly happy.
Bojana Barovic, ex-girlfriend of Pau Gasol
When he was with the Grizzlies, Spanish big man Pau Gasol dated Serbian model Bojana Barovic. We're not sure what happened to that one, but they were cute together.
Sarah Palin, ex-fling of Glen Rice
Yes, we realize he's not a current player. But this one is just too good to leave out. According to a book by Joe McGinniss, the former Alaska governor had a one-night stand with Rice in 1987 when he was a junior at the University of Michigan. But before you get any ideas, know that Rice told McGinniss "it was all done in a respectful way, nothing hurried." That's nice.
