On this day in 1960, Lakers forward Elgin Baylor scored a record 71 points in a 123-108 victory over the Knicks in New York. Baylor’s record lasted less than two years as Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points against New York in March 1962. Though the record was short-lived, it gives us an excuse to highlight the great Elgin Baylor. Here are some of his more memorable pictures.
