The Magic have agreed to trade forward Josh McRoberts to the Bobcats in exchange for forward Hakim Warrick, according to reports by Yahoo! Sports and CBSSports.com.
McRoberts, 25, was a toss-in to the blockbuster trade that sent Dwight Howard from the Magic to the Lakers last summer. He's averaging 3.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.7 minutes for the Magic this season and is in the final year of a two-year, $6.1 million deal he signed in Dec. 2011.
The rebuilding Bobcats, in need of frontcourt scoring and rebounding, will likely give McRoberts a full look down the stretch of a season that is already lost.
Warrick, 30, was acquired by the Bobcats from the Hornets in a November trade for Matt Carroll. He is averaging 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game this season.
USA Today Sports reports that the Magic are expected to release Warrick, who is making $4 million this season and has a $4 million team option for 2013-14.
