The Celtics will wear a black stripe on their jerseys to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings during their season finale against the Raptors in Toronto on Wednesday.

The simple black stripe will adorn the jersey's left shoulder, above the NBA logo. The Celtics posted a photo of the jersey tribute to Instagram hours before tip off.

On Monday, the NBA canceled a game between the Pacers and Celtics set for Boston's TD Garden after multiple bombs went off near the finish of the Boston Marathon. That game did not have any playoff implications and it will not be made up prior to the start of the postseason this weekend.

CNN.com reports that three people were killed and more than 150 people were injured in the attacks.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers addressed the attacks this week, the Boston Globe reported.

"I just thought the spirit of Boston was phenomenal last night. In a tragic event, it either separates you or brings you together. It clearly brought the city of Boston together, which was awesome. The city has responded. The city, it was awesome, watching people help people. I’m driving and I can see people helping people walk, helping go to the right places. This city has an amazing amount of spirit and I think that showed last night. And today still. Then you’re angry, too. I think that starts now. You really are. When you keep thinking about it. It does make you very angry at what happened. And that’s because you love the city, and love where you’re at. So that bothers you."

Earlier this season, the Lakers added a "JB" patch to their jerseys to honor the passing of owner Jerry Buss. The Rockets also wore a blue and green striped patch in memory of coach Kevin McHale's daughter, Sasha, who passed away in November.
