Video: Warriors' Klay Thompson throws down poster dunk on Pistons' Kyle Singler
Warriors guard Klay Thompson threw down a poster dunk over Pistons forward Kyle Singler during Golden State's 104-96 road victory on Monday.
With a little more than eight minutes remaining in the first quarter and Detroit leading 11-8, Thompson leaked out after a Pistons made basket. Getting behind most of Detroit's defenders, Thompson only had to beat Singler to the rim.
Rising for a right-handed dunk once he reached the protected circle, Thompson completed the slam over Singler, who challenged with his right hand. The highlight reel fodder sent Golden State's bench into a frenzy.
Singler, meanwhile, went staggering backwards and wound up landing on the baseline photographers and Detroit's cheerleaders.
Thompson finished with 19 points (on 8-for-12 shooting), three rebounds and two assists. Stephen Curry added 19 points (on 6-for-15 shooting), nine assists and eight rebounds for the Warriors.
Greg Monroe tallied a game-high 23 points (on 8-for-20 shooting) and eight rebounds for Detroit. Singler and Josh Smith each added 18 points in a losing effort.
