Video: Russell Westbrook goes coast-to-coast to dunk over Kent Bazemore
Thunder guard Russell Westbrook drove coast-to-coast for the dunk over Lakers guard Kent Bazemore during L.A.'s 114-110 upset victory at the Staples Center on Sunday.
A career-high 42 points from Jodie Meeks put the Lakers in the driver's seat down the stretch, and the Thunder were left to mount a furious late-game comeback. While that push eventually came up short, it did feature an insane end-to-end sequence from Westbrook, who secured a defensive rebound with roughly one minute remaining in regulation and the Lakers up 110-105. Pushing the ball up the court, Westbrook looked to take advantage of Pau Gasol, who was late getting back on defense.
Facing a 5-on-4 situation, Westbrook used a left-to-right crossover to get to the middle of the court, forcing Bazemore to recover deep into the paint to protect the rim. With the Lakers' other defenders not in position to provide meaningful help, Westbrook attacked the basket with a right-handed dunk attempt as Bazemore reached back with his left hand to try to block the shot. Westbrook's burst carried him over the top of the defense, and he finished the play with authority.

In addition to Meeks' heroics, the Lakers got 20 points (on 8-for-17 shooting) and 11 rebounds from Gasol. Bazemore chipped in 11 points (on 5-for-11 shooting) and seven rebounds off the bench.
