Suns guard Archie Goodwin was arrested earlier this month in Arkansas following a confrontation at a skating rink.

The Associated Press reports that Goodwin was arrested on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Little Rock on May 4.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler says Goodwin was arrested May 4 outside a Little Rock skating rink after a trooper heard him cursing and ''exhibiting aggressive gestures'' toward another person. Sadler says the trooper told Goodwin to stop cursing, then arrested him when he continued acting aggressively and that Goodwin tried to break free while being arrested. He was taken to jail and is to appear in court on June 3.

The Suns reportedly had no comment on the situation.

An Arkansas native who spent one year at Kentucky before turning pro, Goodwin was the No. 29 pick in the 2013 draft. At 19, he was the NBA's second-youngest player during his rookie season.

The 6-foot-5 Goodwin is a promising athlete with good scoring instincts, but he played sparingly for first-year coach Jeff Hornacek as the Suns made a surprising, although ultimately unsuccessful, run at the Western Conference's No. 8 playoff spot.

Goodwin averaged 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.3 minutes over 52 appearances with the Suns. He also averaged 26.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in five appearances for the D-League's Bakersfield Jam.
