Speaking at a Milwaukee Press Club event Monday morning, Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry indicated that his team will not select Joel Embiid with the second pick in Thursday’s draft.
Embiid had right foot surgery last Friday, throwing the NBA Draft, scheduled for Thursday, into upheaval. Most mock drafts had Embiid going into the top five of the draft, after he averaged 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in his one season at Kansas.
The Cleveland Cavaliers hold the draft’s top pick, followed by the Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic and the Utah Jazz.
