The Thunder selected Josh Huestis with the No. 29 pick in the NBA draft on Thursday. Here’s a look at Huestis and how he fits with Oklahoma City:

Bio: Stanford | Senior | Small forward

Vitals: 6-7, 230 pounds

2013-14 stats: 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 45.1 FG%, 33.8 3FG%

Strengths: Huestis' ability to defend multiple positions will be his calling card. He helped hold Andrew Wiggins to four points on 1-of-6 shooting in Stanford's third-round upset of Kansas in the NCAA tournament. He's a good athlete with a decent-looking shot.

Weaknesses: Huestis doesn't do anything especially well on offense, leaving him as a bit of a tweener forward and limiting his upside. He shot only 31.9 percent (66-of-207) from three-point range in four seasons with the Cardinal.

Team fit: Huestis' modest offensive game will prevent him from logging regular NBA minutes. If he can hone his perimeter shooting to the point of becoming playable, however, his flexible defense will provide the payoff. The Stanford product plays with smarts and NBA athleticism, and his 7-1 wingspan opens up his potential to lock down scorers. This pick won't be revered, but don't be surprised if the Thunder quietly groom Huestis into a useful contributor.
