MAHONEY: Free agency's early market trends
The Bucks took Parker number two overall in last month's draft, after the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Andrew Wiggins. The former Duke forward averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his freshman season in Durham. The three-seed Blue Devils lost to Mercer in the round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament.
Details of the contract were not reported. The rookie salary scale dictates a deal worth over $12.8 million over three years, with an option for a fourth year. First-round picks can sign for as much as 120% or as little as 80% of the rookie scale.
