John Salmons will reportedly sign with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
The Pelicans would be Salmons' third team in slightly more than two weeks. The veteran guard/forward was first traded from Toronto to Atlanta in exchange for guard Lou Williams and the 16th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, Lucas “Bebe” Nogueira. He was subsequently waived by the Hawks to clear cap space.
Salmons was due $7 million for the 2014-15 season, but only $1 million was guaranteed.
Salmons averaged 5.0 points, 1.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game last season. He was drafted with the 26th overall pick of the 2002 NBA draft.
